With the closure of Cyprus Airways in January 2015, a group of ex CY employees saw an opportunity in establishing an MRO with the intent of providing line maintenance services to foreign airlines flying into Cyprus, but mostly for providing Total Care Maintenance Services to new Airlines being established in Cyprus and having their Operational base at Larnaca airport.
The Maintenance Organisation (MRO) has been registered in the name of C.A.S. Cyprus Aerotechnical Services Ltd. whose registered office is at 4 Monosandalou St, 6041 Larnaca, Cyprus and currently has all its operational activities based in Larnaca Airport.
Both the Company Name and logo have also been registered and protected under the Registry of Trade Marks.
Ownership
C.A.S. is entirely owned and funded by its shareholders. There are currently 6 shareholders holding an equal amount of shares. All shareholders are members of the Board of Directors with one appointee acting as the Executive Chairman. The rest of the shareholders hold key positions within the company.
Certification
Cyprus Aerotechnical Services Ltd has gained its Maintenance Organisation Approval (EASA Part 145) from the Department of Civil Aviation Cyprus and is currently operating under DCA approval ref CY.145.006 with a Scope of Approval for issuing Certificates of Release to Service for the maintenance of Airbus A319/A320/A321/A330 and Boeing 737 NG aircraft types for all Line Maintenance activities up to the “A” check level.
